Sherri S. Grady, LPC, LLC

Sherri Grady, a licensed professional counselor and clinical supervisor, has been helping individuals of all ages find healing and transformation, make changes and exceed their goals personally and professionally for the past 18 years.   Her expertise in counseling, leadership, wellness and spirituality help her connect with people in many arenas.  She has been a facilitator of the therapeutic process in both inpatient and outpatient settings since 1993.  She was the Clinical Director of an adolescent residential treatment center from 1999 to 2003.     

She has been a trainer and speaker at conferences throughout the United States and Canada in the field of trauma since 1999. 

Sherri also works with leaders and organizations in a number of ways including teambuilding and coaching, corporate consulting,  training workshops, and speaking at business conferences.   

A graduate of the College of Charleston, earning a B.A. in English, Sherri continued her studies at The Citadel Graduate School receiving an M.Ed. in Clinical Counseling and an M.Ed. in Guidance Counseling both with honors.  During that time, she was a Graduate Research Assistant for Dr. Conway Saylor.  Sherri, along with Drs. Saylor and Cynthia Cupit Swenson developed the Pediatric Emotional Distress Scale which has now been published also in Spanish.  She completed her clinical internships at the Charleston/Dorchester Department of Mental Health, Child & Adolescent Services and Charleston Southern University Counseling Center.  Sherri holds two clinical licenses:  licensed professional counselor and licensed professional counselor supervisor in the state of South Carolina.

The Integration of Theology and Psychology
All truth is God's truth which is the foundational belief for a faith-based, integrated approach to psychotherapy. The Bible, inspired by God, is the highest standard of truth that we have which is considered God's special revelation. The Bible is the story of God's redemption and does not address every complex facet of how to deal with human struggles or how to understand human nature in detail. From the point where the Bible leaves off in these areas, we have the general revelation of God. This general revelation is truth found through various disciplines such as Archeology, History, Medicine, and Psychology. For the purposes of counseling, the Bible is the filter through which psychology is understood and delivered since all of psychology is not aligned with a Christian world-view. However, by using this as a filter, a faith-based approach to therapy can freely use components from the discipline of psychology that will facilitate healing and transformation.
